The 16th Senior ITF World Taekwon-do Championships

From 9th-18th of October 2009 the All Afghanistan National Taekwon-do Association ITF Delegation Mr. HED MOHAMMAD SHIRZAI, Founder & President of All Afghanistan National Taekwon-do Association ITF (AANTA) Mr. Mohammad Salih jawahery, Senior Vice President (AANTA) Mr. Gula Jan Wafa, President of Afghan youth ITF Taekwon-do Association Mr. Mohammad Maroof Sharifzada, Chairman Umpire committee (AANTA) Mr. Abdul Latif Yari, Official Member of (AANTA) and Representative ITF in Herat Province Mr. Mohammad Masoud Sharifzada, III Dan 79 Kg Competitor Mr. Nazir Ahmad, II Dan 77 Kg Competitor

Travelled to Saint Petersburg Russia for participating to the 16th world ITF Taekwon-do Championships. Departing from Kabul Airport by Pamir Airways, after transfers through Dubai and Moscow by Aeroflot(Russian Airlines) The delegation reached St.Petersburg on friday afternoon. The responsible of Taekwon-do Federation of St. Petersburg took the delegation to the Moscow Hotel. The Competition started on wednesday 14th November 2009. In individual Sparring Mohammad Masoud Sharifzada 79kg won Republic Korea and Malaysia Competitors and finally lost for Bulgarian Competitor, Mr. Nazir Ahmad won Chinese Competitor and lost against Tajikistan Competitor sayfiddinov Daler who was Titled over all champion at the end of 16th world ITF championships. Over all this was a good and great experience for our officials and players. Mr. Hed Mohammad Shirzai 6th Dan And Mr. Mohammad Maroof Sharifzada 4th Dan Got Medals due to the best performance in umpiring from ITF vice President& Chairman Umpire Committee ITF Dato.

ITF Congress 13th October 2009

The 19th ITF Congress took Place at the Inn Hotel,St. Petersburg Russia on October 13th 2009 Attended by 82 representatives Member countries. Afghanistan was represented by Mr. HED MOHAMMAD SHIRZAI, Official Member & Representative ITF for Afghanistan.

After one minute silence in memory of Late Gen. Choi Hong Hi the founder of Taekwon-do The ITF President Professor and Dr. Chang Ung addressed the congress. the President praised the efforts Of the organizing committee for the success of the 16th world ITF Taekwon-do Championships and Talked about the outcome of his meeting with the IOC President Mr. Dr. Jacques Rogge and General Association of International Sports Federation GAISF President Mr. Hein Verbruggen regarding ITF issues. There was a presentation of awards & Grand Master Degree Certificates to members Promoted to 9th Dan. The Secretary General Senior Master Phap lu made a brief report on his Activities since last Congress and treasurer Mr. Kim Chol Gyu Presented his Report on the financial Activities of ITF for 2009.

The Guest of Honor of this Congress was Mrs.choi chun hui, Widow of Gen. Choi Hong Hi After Congress Prof. Dr. Chang Ung was elected by votes of 82 countries Representatives as the Next ITF President for Another Six years. Also Asian enlarged Meeting took place at Moscow Hotel Meeting room on 12th October 2009. Most of the Asian Member Countries were Present at the Meeting the key issues were discussed, The main discuss was regarding the venue and time for the 5th Asian ITF Taekwon-do Championships It was decided that the venue of the 5th Asian championships will be in kazakhstan in the month of April 2010.The International Seminar was organized for all umpires and masters conducted by senior grand master Rhee Ki Ha and Senior Grand master Leong Wai Meng before championships
